Objective 

Demonstrate how the Sending State caseworker or ICPC Coordinator can upload a 100A or create a 100A in NEICE 2.0. 


Overview


An ICPC case requires an 100A for each child in the case. NEICE allows you to create a 100A in NEICE OR add a 100A that has been signed manually and scanned and upload it to the case.  You can do this through the Sending Case Wizard.


When you are uploading a 100A, you will still need to complete the information in the Sending Case Wizard on the 100A/100B screen in order to upload the document before you can successfully upload the document to NEICE and have it appear as a 100A.  


If you leave the wizard while creating the case before uploading the 100A, you can also navigate to the case via the case search function on the left menu. You will then go to the Children in Case tab, and for the child who needs the 100A, you will click on Homestudy Request (100A) where you will fill out the 100A information and upload the paper document to the case. 

NOTE: NEICE will not recognize the scanned 100A until you've completed the required fields.


You can create a 100A via the Sending Case Wizard OR from within an existing case.


OPTION 1 Creating a 100A through the Sending Case Wizard

  1. Click "Sending Case Wizard" to launch the Sending Case Wizard.
  2. Proceed through the steps of the case wizard
    • Search for child
    • Add or enter child information.
    • Add Case Details information including receiving state information and jurisdiction
    • Add placement resource information for the child you want to add to the case. 
  3. After you enter that, you can click on Create Case and Continue to 100A/B.
  4. Complete Section I on 100A
    1. In Section I, enter the Name of Agency or Person Responsible for Planning of Child, either an Individual or Organization

    2. In Section I, enter the Name of Agency or Person Financially Responsible for Child, either an Individual or Organization.  If the Financially Responsible Individual is the same as Planning Responsible Individual or Organization, Select the checkbox Same as Above

    3. If there are multiple children in the case and the Financially Responsible and Planning person or organization is the same, Select the option, Same as – Child Name.

  5. In Section II, Enter agency if other than a residential treatment facility where the child will reside, if necessary
  6. In section III, Enter the type of initial study if this is the first request
    1. In Section III, Select the Supervisory Services Requested and the report frequency

    2. In Section III, Enter the Supervising Agency in Receiving State if known

  7. Scroll to the bottom of the page & View the options:
    1. Save 100A if you want to Save 

    2. Save & Generate 100A to continue in Wizard

    3. Or Save 100A & Upload to upload a scanned 100A received as a signed document and then Continue in the Wizard 

      Please notice you have signed the 100A-Initial automatically with your electronic signature (saved in your profile).

  8. NEICE will display the 100A with your Name, Signature, and current date. Close the 100A
  9. Notice that four areas have been completed in the Progress Bar
  10. NEICE will display the Documents screen.  You can continue through the rest of the case wizard from here. 

NOTE: When an ICPC coordinator uploads a document, the document status will be displayed as “Attached” in the grid. However, when the caseworker uploads a document, the document status will be displayed as “Uploaded” in the grid. When an ICPC coordinator receives a document from the caseworker that a caseworker uploaded within NEICE, the ICPC coordinator needs to change the status of the document from “Uploaded” to Attached” by selecting the document record and clicking on “Attach” from the Actions drop-down on the document page. Only documents with an “Attached” Status can be enclosed in a Transmittal to a Sending/Receiving State.


OPTION 2 Creating a 100A AFTER Creating a Case


If you create a case but stop before generating or uploading a 100A, you can always create a 100A later by following these steps. 

  1. Search for Case ID and navigate to case.
  2. Click on Children in Case Menu.
  3. Click on Homestudy Request (100A)
  4. Complete the information for the 100A. 
  5. Save Step
    1. Save 100A if you want to Save 
    2. Save & Generate 100A will generate the 100A and attach it to the child in the case. NEICE will display the pdf for preview. You can simply close it and you will be returned to the Documents page in teh case.
      Please notice you have signed the 100A-Initial automatically with your electronic signature (saved in your profile).
    3. Or Save 100A & Upload to upload a scanned 100A received as a signed document. NEICE will open up a box to select the file (pdf) you wish to upload. Navigate to where you saved the scanned 100A on your computer and upload it.
    4. After you save and upload, NEICE will return you to the documents page where you will see the 100 Attached (if you are an ICPC Coordinator) or uploaded if you are a caseworker.
