The purpose of this job aid is to provide an overview of how a “Home Study Due” case task is created and completed by the NEICE system for electronic and non-electronic cases on Sending and Receiving state sides.

Home Study Due Tasks Creation

Electronic Case:  

  • On the Sending State side, the case task for Home Study Due will be created when the Home Study Request transmittal is sent with the due date calculated based in the Home Study Request Sent On date, and the due date is updated when a Case Status Update transmittal is received from the Receiving State (Once the case is accepted).

  • On the Receiving State side, a case task is created when the case status is changed from “Receiving” to “Active”.

Non-Electronic Case:

  • Case sent to a Non-Participating State: Case Task for Home Study due is created by the system when the Home Study Request transmittal is sent. 

  • Case received from a Non-Participating State: Case Task is created when Receiving State case status is updated from “Receiving” to “Active”.

Note: All tasks created on the case can be viewed on the Tasks tab of the case as shown below.

Home Study Due Task Completion: 

Electronic Case:

  • For Regulation 1 and Regulation 2: The task will be marked completed by the system once a Preliminary Home Evaluation document or a Home Study Response is received from the Receiving State.

  • For Regulation 4, Regulation 7 and Regulation 12: The task will be marked completed by the system once a Home Study Response is received from the Receiving State.

Non-Electronic

Case sent to a Non-Participating State: 

  • For Regulation 1 and Regulation 2: The task will be marked completed by the system once a Preliminary Home Evaluation document or 100A-Completed is uploaded in “Attached” status.

  • For Regulation 4, Regulation 7 and Regulation 12: The task will be marked completed by the system once a 100A-Completed document is uploaded in “Attached” status.

Case received from a Non-Participating State: 

  • For Regulation 1 and Regulation 2: The task will be marked completed by the system once a Home Study Response or a Preliminary Report is sent to the Sending State.

  • For Regulation 4, Regulation 7 and Regulation 12: The task will be marked completed by the system once a Home Study Response is sent to the Sending State.

Note: Once the task is marked as Completed by the system, the Username (Completed By) and task “Completed Date” are displayed against the task record as shown below.
